A week in a club
Four hours of reading, one hour of talking, and nothing to prepare. This repeats until the book is finished.
Early in the week
The week opens
Your tutor publishes the reading target, three or four discussion prompts and a short vocabulary list. It arrives once — no daily streak to keep.
Whenever you read
Twenty to thirty pages
Four chapters, roughly four hours across the week. Read on paper, on a Kindle, in a bath. Mark the week read when you get there.
In the thread
Say the half-formed thing
The club thread runs all week. In the target language if you can manage it, in English if the thought is too big for it yet. Both are normal.
Once a week
The hour
Eight people who read the same chapters, one tutor, sixty minutes. Everyone has something to say because everyone read the same thing.
Clubs run at four or more
Below four paid seats we refund the month or roll you into another club at your level. We would rather cancel than run a club of two.
Missing a week is survivable
Come to the session anyway. Attendance is between you and your tutor — the group never sees who read what.
Where this sits
A club is not a cheaper tutor and not a better app. It's the thing that makes the reading actually happen: a fixed hour and a small group who read the same chapters.
Most people who join have a shelf of books in their target language with a bookmark on page thirty.

The books, and who owns them
You buy your own copy, in print or wherever you read. We host the schedule, the prompts and the hour — never the text.
New book selections are on the way.
One club of eight replaces four one-to-one hours.
You choose the book, the level, the hour and the price. We handle subscriptions, failed payments, refunds and payouts, and we fill the seats. Commission is a flat 20%.

The things people actually ask
My level isn't good enough to read a novel.
That's the usual worry and usually wrong. Clubs are labelled by CEFR level and tutors pick books to match — B1 clubs read short chapters with plain sentences. You will not understand every word, and the session is where that gets sorted.
What if I fall behind?
Come anyway and say so. Tutors plan for it: the prompts work if you have read most of the week, and nobody is quizzed. If you fall behind for a whole month, ask your tutor about the next season instead.
Do I have to speak the whole hour?
No. Some weeks you mostly listen. Eight is small enough that everyone gets space and large enough that you can have a quiet week without the hour collapsing.
Is the book included?
Public-domain books are free to download — we link them. For modern books you buy your own copy; we never host or resell the text. Each club says which up front.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your subscription page. The month you have paid for runs out, then the charge stops. Leaving one club does not touch the others.
What if my club is full?
Full clubs re-open most seasons — check back, or browse other clubs at your level. Some tutors run the same book again once a season finishes.
